Your thoughts shape your choices which create a result. The state of your health is a result of the choices you have made in your life and that you continue to make every single day and the thoughts that are behind each of those choices.
So, if you want different results, yes you need to make different choices, but even deeper than that you need to start thinking different thoughts.
Thinking on purpose and with purpose, owning every thought, holding every thought captive and deciding if it stays or if it goes. If it supports your growth or tears you down. If it makes you better or keeps you stuck.
As humans, we all have the ability and the freedom to make choices.
While we have the freedom to choose to do whatever we want, not all choices lead to good results.
Just because you want to do something does not mean that it’s the right choice or will yield a positive result.
We should all have learned from a young age that there are consequences for our actions - touching the hot pan = getting burned. You certainly can touch the hot pan, but it is going to burn you. And just because we really want to touch the hot pan doesn’t mean it’s not going to burn us.
Similarly, you certainly can eat ice cream every single night, but don’t expect it not to have health implications.
You can choose to push past the limits of what your body is telling you and live at an unsustainable level of stress at all times, but it’s probably going to end up in burn out at some point.
You have the freewill to do whatever you want - but what are the results of those choices?
When it comes to your health it’s time to start asking yourself some hard questions - what are your current choices and habits when it comes to what you’re eating, what you’re thinking, and what you’re doing every single day? What have those choices and habits been up until this point in your life? Why have you created those habits and made those choices? What is the result they are having in your life, on your health?
These questions, while sometimes uncomfortable, are the ones that matter. Changing at the deeper level of who you are and what motivates you is not for the faint of heart. But it’s the work that matters the most.
Your thoughts are the most powerful tool that you have when it comes to your overall health and wellbeing.
Are you using them to make you better, healthier, stronger, and happier? Or are you using them to keep you stuck exactly where you are?
